The St. Lawrence County Community Development Program Welcomes You

A chalk board hung up with the words "Welcome please come in"

Hi there! Thank you for visiting our website. We have gotten a bit of a makeover, can you tell? As part of our initiative to serve the St. Lawrence County community better, the St. Lawrence County C.D.P. has redesigned its website with the aim of providing a convenient and user-friendly experience that is accessible on any device. Through the website, learn more about what we strive to achieve, how we do so through the programs we manage and how you can contribute to our mission:

  • For an introduction to who we are, how we came about and what we value, please visit About Us,
  • For further information on our programs and other resources, please visit the pages under Programs,
  • For various opportunities to assist our efforts, please visit Volunteering,
  • Find out more about the Tour de Potsdam annual event hosted by our organization,
  • Published Reports are available, as are posts on job opportunities, program updates among other notices (like the one you’re currently reading) under News and Postings.

By the way, the Head Start Pre-school Program is currently recruiting children for enrollment in the coming 2019-2020 school year! Economically disadvantaged children or children with disabilities between the ages of 3-5 years in St. Lawrence county are eligible for enrollment. To find out more about the program and how to apply, please visit the Head Start page.

Did you know about the neighborhood centers operated by C.D.P. throughout the county? Services and references to similar resources are provided to low-income families by staff with the assistance of dedicated and loyal community volunteers; the resources include food pantries, personal care items and assistance during emergencies with food, shelter and utilities. To find out more about the centers, please visit the Neighborhood Centers page.

Keep an eye out for new posts, and feel free to reach out to us through the contact form on our Home page with comments and feedback on how we are doing!
