The St. Lawrence County Community Development Program, known as C.D.P., is a private, not-for-profit agency that serves St. Lawrence County. It is one of forty-nine agencies in a network in New York State and one of a thousand Community Action Agencies that exist in the United States.
C.D.P. was incorporated in 1965 and operates programs and services for low-income families to assist them toward self-sufficiency. We encourage self-reliance and responsible community participation among those we serve. Through our programs, families gain access to resources and services that not only help alleviate the financial burden brought on by underemployment and an ever-rising cost of living, but also seek to ultimately move them towards self-support.

For 60 years, St. Lawrence County Community Development Program, Inc. (SLCCDP) has been a lifeline for families across our region — offering food, safe housing, early education, and more.
Here’s what we accomplished from June 2025 to May 2026 — with the support of people like you:
570,978 lbs of food distributed
11,555 food boxes delivered
805 mobile food deliveries & 207 bus tokens provided
1,332 families received discounted groceries through Food Sense
585 households received Housing Choice Vouchers
510 disabled and 328 senior participants received housing support
53 homes weatherized (including 310 A/C units & 5 furnace replacements)
237 children served through Head Start, with 7,945 volunteer hours, 85 field trips, and 95%+ receiving physicals, dental, hearing, and vision screenings.
$293,215 returned to families through the VITA tax assistance program
147 households helped with utility bills
12,668 volunteer hours donated across our Neighborhood Centers
But the need is growing — and we can’t do it alone.
